It Takes Two to Chacha

I'm taking my final co-Q this sem which is Basic Dance & Movement 1. To date, I've learned Tarian Endang from Negeri Sembilan and recently Chacha. Today, I'm not into writing much as I have BCL test 1 tomorrow morning. Here's something that you might wanna know about Chacha (Leave Endang behind, I'll share with you one fine, rajin day.

"Cha-Cha, originally known as Cha-Cha-Cha, is originated in the Cuban Mambo. It gets its name from the distinctive syncopated triple step (cha cha cha) danced between 2 rock steps. It came to this country (US) in the middle 1950's. This is also a spot dance and is expressed though body animation. The character is fun, flirty, and playful. Cha-Cha figures cross over to almost any fast tempo music from country to funk and hip-hop. Learn the basic figures and the technique that makes those moves really stand out on the dance floor, including rhythm walks, Cuban motion, spotting, connection, posture, and footwork. The Cha-Cha adds fun to your dancing through its syncopated steps and many open movements. When you can dance many interesting combinations with ease, you and your partner will be able to feel the pulsating Latin rhythms which make this dance so fascinating. The energetic rhythm of this dance encourages you to cut loose and let your personality show. GET CONFIDENCE: Dancers possess an aura of self-confidence and an ability to enjoy themselves more in public settings. Their entire mental outlook takes on a renewed sense of creativity, motivation and energy." - SOURCE
I wanna wear a smexy purple dress and dance chacha gracefully with my lucky partner. Hihi

So last Monday, the dance instructors taught us one basic step of chacha and the beat we danced with was Michael Bublé - Sway. Below are the sequences of the only step that they taught us:
1. Stand straight. Both feet side by side.
2. When the music starts, move your right foot backward and lift your left foot up (approx. 45 degrees)
3. Put your left foot back on the floor (the same place before it's lifted)
4. Step your right foot forward next to the left foot
5. Then step your right foot again to the front
6. Walk your left foot forward and lift your right foot up.
7. Then go backward.
8. Put your right foot back, step left foot to the back next to your right foot, move again your left foot backward, right foot backward and lift left foot again.
9. Now, you're at the same position of #2 above. Repeat the steps and try to play with your hands movement as well.

That's all for today's entry. Kalau tak faham boleh datang bilik saya kat V3C ni. Let's CHACHA! (Video clip Pussycat Dolls - Sway dimainkan menggunakan VLC) Padahal ada test BCL ni esok. Aaaih. Good night!
